Today is world Down syndrome awareness day. There are approximately 40,000 people in the UK with Down Syndrome. SLT’s are often involved in supporting children with Down Syndrome helping them to achieve their potential.
Happy National swallowing awareness day: on average humans swallow from 500-700 times a day. Dysphagia is the term given when someone has a swallowing difficulty 🧐 @BHRUT_SLT

Vaccinated a man today- when I told him I’m an SaLT he said: “You have no idea how much I respect your profession. I’m a throat cancer survivor and your colleagues saved my life. You gave me my life back when I had to relearn how to swallow. You’re truly underrated” ❤️ #mySLTday
