@MattPinner_ Yes & as others have said, board rubbers thrown across the classroom. Also in late 1980's in Northern Ireland they still hit children across back of knees with a ruler, as happened to my daughter, for not sitting down when told. Let's just say I was up that school pretty quick.

@toryboypierce I read your book, once started it I found it hard to put down until I finished it, my mum was a Foster mother & Fosterd 98 babies before going up for adoption. Baby 99, we kept & adopted her, my little sister, as much as my other 4 siblings, so could very much relate to your book
