America already made daylight saving time permanent once. In December 1973, 79% of Americans supported it and Nixon signed it into law. By February 1974, eight weeks into the experiment, support had collapsed to 42%. The policy never changed. Winter arrived.
Sunrise in Washington DC came at 8:27am. Kids left for school in total darkness, carrying flashlights and wearing reflective tape. When Congress moved to repeal, members cited the deaths of eight Florida schoolchildren in the first weeks of the change.
The energy case collapsed too. The whole point was the oil embargo, and the Department of Transportation concluded the fuel savings were too small to matter. Ten months after signing it, Congress repealed it and Ford put the country back on standard time.
There's a mechanism that makes this cycle repeat: permanent DST is only ever voted on when the sun is up. Polls run in the abstract, votes happen in warm months, and the benefit, a free hour of evening light, is easy to imagine year-round. The cost is concentrated in about 10 weeks of dark winter mornings and only becomes real after implementation. So the policy polls beautifully right up until January.
Today's vote happened in July. The 1974 law passed in December, right before the exact winter that killed it. If this clears the Senate, the first real test arrives in January 2027, when sunrise in Indianapolis comes after 9am.
Sleep researchers have watched this loop for 50 years, which is why the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, the AMA, and the National Sleep Foundation all back the opposite reform, permanent standard time. Congress just picked the one version of clock reform America has already tried, hated, and repealed.

What if the greatest threat to equality is government deciding who deserves special treatment?
The Constitution doesn't divide Americans into racial groups, political groups, or preferred classes of citizens.
It recognizes one people under one law.
So why are governments still drawing districts, allocating power, and making policy decisions based on race, ethnicity, gender, and identity classifications?
The Fourteenth Amendment promises equal application of the law not equal outcomes engineered by government.
Can government manipulate political power based on identity and still claim to provide equal protection?
When law stops treating people equally and starts sorting citizens by identity, something fundamental changes.
This isn't a Republican issue.
This isn't a Democrat issue.
It's a constitutional question every American should understand.
Watch this video and decide for yourself:
Does equality mean equal treatment under the law or government management of identity groups?

Investigative journalist Nina Teicholz on the incredible benefits of the keto/carnivore diets:
"You can reverse type two diabetes... reverse hypertension... reduce depression and anxiety by 79%... not within years, within weeks."
"In the biggest clinical trial... more than 50% of the population was able to reverse their type two diabetes... within ten weeks."
The Guidelines are required by law to include an option for the "general public." That public now has one or more chronic diseases—60%-93%, according to various estimates)
Yet the Guidelines have long excluded a low-carbohydrate option despite the fast-growing science showing that this nutritional approach is the most effective for reversing type 2 diabetes, hypertension, inflammation, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and other conditions.
We need to speak up for a low-carb option in the upcoming Dietary Guidelines.

Saturated fats are back in the news! This, I believe, was the first mainstream media article (2007) arguing that saturated fats don't cause heart disease. @MensHealthMag (paywalled)
I cite Tufts' D. Mozzaffarian saying, "In the nutrition field, it's very difficult to get something published that goes against established dogma...that saturated fat is harmful, but that is not based, to me, on unequivocal evidence."
Since then, >2 dozen meta-analyses and systematic reviews have found that sat fats have no effect on cardiovascular or total mortality.
It's time for policymakers to let go of this failed idea.
I have discovered that if you want to make the mainstream nutrition scientists and dietitians on Linkedin really, really angry, you remind them of this.
And suggest that nutrition science needs to get its house in order (and the dietary guidelines) before they accuse everyone
What if your doctor wanted to recommend a low-carb diet but is wary, because that's not official policy? 😳
That’s the hidden power of the U.S. Dietary Guidelines.
They determine:
➡️ What’s served in hospitals and schools
➡️ What the military eats
➡️ What food assistance programs provide
➡️ And yes, even what your doctor recommends
The face that the Dietary Guidelines doesn't include a low-carb option is not because it isn't evidence-based.
It's because the guidelines process has been hijacked by ultra-processed food interests and status-quo thinking.
The new Dietary Guidelines for Americans will be released soon (They’re updated once every five years).
That means we’re in a rare, powerful moment to push for change.
📣 It’s time to demand a low-carb option in the guidelines for the 88% of American adults who are not metabolically healthy.
It’s long overdue for the Dietary Guidelines to include a low-carbohydrate option for the vast majority of Americans with diet-related diseases.
We are not asking for all Americans to follow this approach. It just needs to be an option.
The scientific evidence is strong. As the MAHA Commission report (part 1) itself stated:
“Some of the most compelling dietary intervention data comes from randomized controlled trials (RCTs) of reduced-carbohydrate diets in adults and children to reverse obesity, type 2 diabetes, Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatotic Liver Disease (MASLD), and risk factors for heart disease such as hypertension….[R]educed-carbohydrate diets have been studied in several two-year trials, including one with five-year follow-up data. (p. 28)”

Please, those who have ears to hear, hear this. 🇺🇸
I speak not from political or personal bias, but from love; a love for Liberty and for the Constitutional Republic that remains the greatest form of government ever conceived by humankind.
I speak because I know, not by opinion, but by study and conviction, the intentional design of separation of powers, the intentional framework that guards our freedom and binds the use of power under our Constitution.
And with that understanding, let me be clear:
First and absolute: The National Guard Act is wholly unconstitutional. No authority has ever been delegated to the federal government to seize control of a State’s Guard. In fact, such power is explicitly forbidden.
Second and just as absolute: The authority to call up the State Guard rests only with Congress, and only for limited and specific purposes. It is not a power given to the President.
Finally and equally absolute: The federal government may only take command of a State Guard to “protect or defend” during domestic violence if the State itself requests it. Absent that request, any federal action is a violation, plain and simple.
Each of these boundaries was drawn to protect you from tyranny.
To preserve the delicate balance that keeps government as servant, not master.
And for any of those who will read this and say, “but, but, but…”
Never forget:
The unconstitutional power you tolerate (endorse) today will become the weapon used against you tomorrow. 🗡️
Do you really have a right to healthcare, birth control, or abortion? Or have we confused rights with benefits?
A right is something you possess by the very nature of your creation.
A benefit is something given to you at the expense of another person’s property, usually by government.
Samuel Adams described rights as “evident branches of…the duty of self-preservation, commonly called the first law of nature.”
Frederic Bastiat put it plainly:
“Life, liberty, and property do not exist because men have made laws. On the contrary, it was the fact that life, liberty, and property existed beforehand that caused men to make laws.”
Rights precede government. Government exists to protect them, not invent them.
If you must wait for government to protect your life, liberty, or property and cannot defend them yourself you don’t truly own them. You’ve surrendered them to the state.
Healthcare, welfare, subsidies, these are not inherent rights. They are benefits, created by legislation and funded through someone else’s property.
A person has a right to life and to defend that life.
No one has a right to make another citizen pay for their birth control or abortion.
The Bill of Rights lists protections for inherent, God-given rights: life, liberty, property, speech, faith, self-defense.
If it were about healthcare or welfare, it would have been called the Bill of Benefits, but it’s not.
Rights belong to all people and exist without legislation. Benefits depend on lawmakers, taxes, and can be given or taken away.
We preserve liberty by knowing the difference.
🇺🇸 Constitution Day - Know Your Congress🇺🇸
Do You Know the TRUE Role of Congress?
How many Americans today really know and understand the true role of Congress?
How many can tell you what the chief responsibility of Congress actually is?
Now here’s the real challenge:
If you were to quiz your own representative on this lesson, would they pass the test?
It’s time to hold our leaders accountable to the Constitution they swore an oath to uphold.
And it starts with We the People knowing the truth ourselves.
