Tweet is overdue. Rereading now. It’s such a gem.
@calebhannan Did it ruin Candice Bergen for you, too?
@AuntB Haha. No! But mostly because I was a total neutral on her prior. Not surprised you’ve read, too. What do you think? Do you think he went appropriately deep into the rabbit hole or too far?
@calebhannan I think it’s great for the most part. I thought the takedown of Bugliosi was overdue and well-done. I appreciated him stating who was where when, hence my sadness about Candice Bergen and so many people who could provide information and hadn’t. I ended up being maybe slightly
@calebhannan less convinced by the “Charles Manson was entangled with the government” part than I expected to be. I wholly believe he intersected with shady feds. And I can completely believe him leading a murderous cult that was punishing and terrifying Hollywood was something the Feds
@calebhannan didn’t mind happening. The coincidences he outlined were interesting, but I was hoping for firm proof on that part. I also thought he left some of the possibly connected deaths less examined than I hoped. But I really appreciate how the book shows just how many loose ends there
