Last night @AutonomyASD celebrated 20 years of #selfhelpandsupport in Shrewsbury with a party of over 70 members and their families. An evening to remember!
Did you know there's a type of anxiety specific to autism that isn't explained by any of the anxiety disorders currently included the DSM? Researchers are referring to this type of anxiety as "Distinct anxiety" because it's distinct to autism and tied to autistic traits.

Pleased that some of our @AutonomyASD members have joined the Shropshire Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training team as autistic experts by experience. We look forward to hearing about how they have helped others to gain more understanding.
@AutonomyASD members are excited about our group's upcoming 20th anniversary/birthday party this April during a special time of year - Autism Acceptance Month.
Our first ever Autonomy social was on January 20th 2004. We are looking forward to 2024 which will be our 20th year of running social events in Shropshire and Telford!
Just had our Christmas Dinner Socials in Telford and Shrewsbury with 73 members and guests funded by a generous cheque. Phew! Our socials resume on January 1st 2024 with a bumper year ahead.
Looking forward to celebrating the Telford Autonomy group's 15th anniversary party. We have had two socials in Telford every month except in December and for 12 months during lockdowns so we have a lot to be celebrating!
