When should you bring up the salary if it’s not listed in the job description? The only correct answer is in the 1st interview. There’s no point in going through the whole process only to find out during the negotiation phase that their salary doesn’t align with what you need.
When they ask you at the end, “Do you have any questions for me?” take the chance and ask. Whether you’re interviewing with a recruiter or the hiring manager, it’s their job to provide these details anyway.
“What’s the salary range for this role?” You can follow up with another job-related question if you think asking this would make you feel awkward, or it would change their impression of you.
But it shouldn’t — compensation is a crucial part of any job unless you’re volunteering. If they’re dodging the question or changing the subject, proceed with caution.
