In 2000 Hansie Cronje was given a life ban for providing information to Indian bookmakers. However, maybe the South African Cricket Board, even the International Cricket Council could have consulted with Cronje about putting protective mechanisms in place? Just a thought.

Allan Border, my favourite all time sportsperson: One of the pieces of advice that I continue to refer back to is as follows (and is not word for word): of all the advice you receive, 90% is not good or helpful and 10% is good. It's up to you to work out the 90% and the 10%.

theathletic.com/3308080/2022/0… No doubt this is going to get interesting. Agents are not going to give up what they think is rightfully theirs and FIFA will want to tighten legislation and rules. When is it too much money? Does enough get put back into the grassroots?
