Because of the possibility of running into awful or unfun matchups, I’ve realized that constructed Magic can be a time-inefficient activity. Ability to think on opponent’s turn is only so much, so it’s easy to actually enjoy like 5 minutes out of a 20-minute match.

I wonder how much preventing players from quitting is part of the reason for the increased Magic release frequency. Would not surprise me if it was much harder to reactivate players once they’re out for N months, so releasing sets faster gives them something to buy and feeds FOMO

Which Pioneer decks are both good and spark joy? Mono red aggro vs Bx midrange is not very much fun, and I think that's probably true from either side. (3-1 in challenge including a T1 scoop and I don't really feel like going again)
