You cannot ‘out-science’ hard F***ing training over a long period of time Many pubmed warriors will point to impressive physiques who train like bros & wonder how they got that way Drugs/genetics notwithstanding, most of them just trained really hard for a really long time
Don’t get me wrong. I LOVE science. I think researching ‘optimal’ methods are great BUT… Many of the people who I see getting caught up in “what is optimal” for every single variable don’t even push themselves 🤷🏼♂️ The magic they are looking for is in the WORK they are avoiding
They are so much time looking for the optimal: Exercises, reps, set number, frequency, volume, biomechanics, time of day to train, knee sleeves, shoes, belts, etc But they don’t even push themselves to pain That is often why ‘suboptimal’ bros look better than ‘optimal’ geeks
@BioLayne The big problem is the science in favour of a certain modality usually only makes a minor difference yet so much emphasis is put on it. Creatine clearly works yet some people are non responders
@BioLayne Most of the research studies ignore interindividual differences in response to training protocols. Just select a program and do it and adjust and progress it whenever needed. It is not rocket science. Many authors of the article about optimal training do not even train!
