@tes Agreed. Lack of respect from government, society, parents and very occasionally students.

@sainsburys You have stopped responding to my DMs when I asked for a refund. Order cancelled less than 24 hours before collection was due, been told I get no refund and your phone operative has been rude and hung up on me. Appalling customer service.

@sainsburys You have taken my money for a “made to order” cake which you’ve told me less than 24 hours before collection that you haven’t got. You won’t refund me without going to the store! My 4 year old son now has no birthday cake for Saturday and I’m £20 out of pocket. WTF?

@notjustanxiety @M_Potter90 My children sadly have both parents that work as teachers. When we were both full time we got to nothing and our daughter noticed the difference to her friends. Now I’m part time (pro-rata TLR for doing full responsibility) I get to some things and it’s made all the difference.

@Shayman66 @PeterStefanovi2 @NEUnion @DanielKebedeNEU When you enter a profession you make certain commitments based on your expected income such as a mortgage, having children etc. when your pay reduces in real terms year on year you find your pay isn’t enough to cover those expenses.

A great opportunity to join an experienced, friendly and supportive team. Maths is a very successful subject at TGS (2023 Maths Progress 8: +0.43). We are proud of our 5 year curriculum and bespoke pathways, putting students at the centre of what we do. mynewterm.com/jobs/145777/ED…

@FlexTeachTalent @WomenEd @SLTchat @Headteacherchat @mtptproject A school that wants 100% of a TLR doing should be prepared to either pay the full TLR to the part time member of staff to complete it, or split it. The expectation for part time staff to do full TLRs without full payment for the role, equivalent to a full timer, is deeply unfair.

@rachbird75 @Geo_Dougie we discovered last year that our Maths PGCE gets more take home pay than everyone in our maths department apart from the actually head of maths. As it’s tax free he was on more than the deputy head of maths who on UPS plus a TLR

@TeacherToolkit Total waste of money. From what I see in the ground at least 50% of maths trainees have no intention of teaching in state schools. The money for the 10 months, as it’s tax free, is more that someone on UPS. Hardly an incentive to stay in teaching.

@oi_tillymint @tinkerb33223691 @Donnaxj600s The report details why she did it manage to call home that evening. One person cannot do multiple things at once, that is a fact. also one overworked person will forget things. Fact.

@GillianKeegan Still below inflation and below what the average rise in the public sector is. If you think teachers are happy think again. Recruitment and retention are a mess!

@NickLowryEd @ShakinthatChalk In my experience training and networking was much better when LAs provided them before most schools were in MATs. Local support networks for schools and staff. I’ve worked for large MATs and small MATs and none have offered anything like what LAs used to.

@KathrynGrice1 @FlexTeachTalent @WomenEd @teacher5aday Love this. As a part time teacher myself I think it’s great my child has 2 part time teachers in primary this year. They might actually have a reasonable work life balance and not be suffering from burnout, she’ll get a great deal.

@AndyKowalski10 @educationgovuk I take it this is a sarcastic remark. This is another cut in funding. Inflation is at nearly 10% so this is a cut in real terms. Schools are having to pay at least 10% extra for basic supplies, energy bills 50% higher, but still funding is decreasing.

@educationgovuk It’s also still significantly less than 15 years ago in real terms. An increase of 2.7% with inflation at 8.7% is still a cut. The fact you are proud of this a galling. I’ve worked in schools for 15 years and never seen such a lack of staff and resources.

@WhistleblowingT If you are expected to be there you must be paid. As above ask HR. Either you are in and paid or not in.

@GillianKeegan @TuringScheme_UK Way less than under Erasmus then and lost all the other opportunities that Erasmus gave for younger students to visit schools abroad too. 😞
