NEWS: Oregon State star freshman wide receiver Jesse Legree has re-signed with the Beavers and will return to play there in 2027, he tells ESPN.
Legree leads the nation in receiving yards (1,040), touchdown catches (14) and receiving yards per game (148.6).
SOMETHING HAS TO GIVE THIS WEEKEND
Utah has won 12 straight, the longest active streak in FBS, since a loss at BYU on Oct. 18, 2025.
Next: No. 14 Houston, which is 5-0 against Utah in every meeting since 1966.
The Utes also have 400+ yards in 15 straight games.

no. 1 has lost to an unranked team two weeks running and now we get a month of people guessing what the committee thinks. just let the standings sort it out. auburn earned that W, georgia's gotta go win the rest, done
@RossDellenger Locked at 24 until at least 2032 means six more years of arguing over at-large picks is already on the calendar.
The fix isn't more teams. It's fewer committee decisions. Win your division, you're in. Finish last, you go down. Let the standings do the work.
Relegation isn't a death sentence. It's a 4-year runway.
Drop to Tier 2 and you still bank $33.2M in year one: the $23.4M base plus a $9.8M parachute. Only $2.5M less than staying up.
Then the parachute shrinks every year. The clock is the motivation.
In our plan, every team plays 10 division games and gets 2 open dates for rivalries/FCS.
Two. That's it. Even across divisions, you only get to protect two.
Name your team and the two games you'd never give up. #CFB
6/14 Step 3: the schedule.
10 league games over 11 weeks, all in your division and tier. 2 open dates for rivalries or FCS. Kickoff Aug 29, done before December.
Last year's standings set this year's slate so every team's strength of schedule remains balanced.
@PeteThamel@CFBHeather 24 teams, and 19 of them still picked by a committee.
Our fix: 20 teams. Top 4 in each of four divisions, plus 4 Tier 2 champs who have to win a play-in. Zero at-larges. Zero committee. Bowls survive.
Bigger isn't the fix. Earned is. #CFB
Under a two-tier system, there's no such thing as a meaningless November game.
Top 4 in every division: playing for the playoff.
5th–10th: playing for a bowl.
Bottom of Tier 1: playing to survive.
Tier 2: playing to move up.
Every Saturday is a playoff for somebody.
1/14 College football is BROKEN.
Conferences span four time zones, a committee still picks the playoff, and most of the 138 FBS programs start every season with no path to a title.
Here is how we fix it. A thread🧵

9/14 Step 5: promotion and relegation. Every year 8 teams go up, 8 go down.
Up: the 4 Tier 2 champs, plus 4 winners of a 16 team promotion playoff (2 vs 5, 3 vs 4 in each division, winners meet).
Down: the bottom 2 of every Tier 1 division. Finish 19th, you're out.
@Brett_McMurphy Exactly why we need a shakeup. Get those 7 teams out of there and let other, more committed programs, have their opportunity. Promotion/Relegation.
@TXTech72@PeterBurnsESPN@CFBPlayoff I like it, with the caveat that you’re excluding a bunch of FBS teams. I’m advocating for two tiers with promotion and relegation.
