@GolfChannel Jack Nicklaus famously used the same MacGregor Tommy Armour 693 3-wood (with a 15-degree loft and red-fiber insert) from 1958 until roughly 1995, using it to win all 18 of his major championships and 73 PGA Tour titles. He only re-gripped it once, in 1981.

@mental_floss They’re all names that appear as the possessive in famous reference works — e.g. Brewer’s (Dictionary of Phrase and Fable), Robert’s (Rules of Order), Gray’s (Anatomy), Bartlett’s (Familiar Quotations), and Webster’s (Dictionary).

@TimKellySports @OnPattison @AntSanPhilly Is it a World Series or bust season? Who will have the better season, Nola or Sanchez? Did the Phils need to acquire some bullpens support in the offseason? Likelihood Turner, Bohm, and Stott all take steps forward and have more productive seasons in 2025?

@AlexCarrMLB The Orioles will land Miller. Plenty of farm talent and they need him more than any other team.

@nut_history I’ve never seen a player more afraid of the outfield wall. The Phillies instantly became very good when he left. Really great OBP guy, but he optimized the opposite of “clutch”.

@BNightengale When he threw out that first pitch at the bank in early October of the playoffs last year, mostly everyone knew that we we’re “saying goodbye”.

@ScottLauber @PhillyInquirer 1) This adds credence to those who think Bryce has pandered to the city. 2) This should have been handled one way or the other without the public being aware. 3) Only 1 (the first) of the 5 seasons with Phillies with 600+PA/season. 4) Get the ring, then talk extension.

@gfienberg17 What makes a "team" aspect work in other sports is the regionality of it. These teams have no provincial quality to them. This is why Ryder and President Cups work, and LIV team don't.

@gfienberg17 100% agree. They should also ditch the 54-hole format. It's my understanding this is one of the reasons their results don't qualify for OGWR. The shotgun start may be another reason. Tweaking these pieces might result in me tuning into their coverage.

@RealVBarbera Their only assignment today should be to come in on Monday and talk about how they experienced the joy of playing in the fresh falling snow. The last thing they should be doing is what they already do too much of.

@ShenkLarry What are the % chances the @Phillies televise the @KentuckyDerby on the Phanavision tomorrow night? Can you recall them ever bringing in a live feed during pre-game? Would look great on that big screen!

@WIPMorningShow @SportsRadioWIP Passing the ball accomplishes 2 things; attacks their weakness (pass defense) and forces them to abandon their strength (run offense). Hurts and Co. need to find their mojo again. No better way to do that than to drop 14 on them in 1st quarter.
