@JoeGoodberry The Browns getting a few wins in the short-term is a good thing, because them getting stuck back in QB purgatory would be ideal. (The rest of that team looks pretty good, admittedly...)

@JamesRapien Literally everyone noticed the lack of depth at slot CB during the offseason. Why couldn't they?

@mndamico It could also mean that Demidov js hurt.

@MrKCincy @JoeGoodberry It's not just fans though. The consensus of much of the national media (including the switched-on ones) seems to be that he doesn't maximise the talent he works with. The rest test this year is if the under-center offense works or if they abandoned it for what's familiar.

@Saputawsit_ @ivandemigoal Bergevin's approach to development was 'if you want it enough, you'll go develop yourself'. Being self-motivated is obviously important, but so is getting good advice/guidance. When coupled with an old-school coach of limited ability, the result is not surprising.

@JeffMarek @JoshYohe_PGH Lemieux because there's a decent chance they'll be sober.

@Jayesskayeye @therealab224 This team was peak Bergevin (i.e. make the playoffs and anything can happen). Mostly grit, not enough talent, only makes it deep as an extreme edge outcome, driven by amazing goaltending. I loved Toffoli as a Hab, but that guy shouldn't be a leading scorer on a good team.

@Jayesskayeye @therealab224 I can't tell if OP was ragebaiting for engagement (but it worked, if so). They went on an incredibly fun playoff run, but part of the reason it was so fun is that no one expected anything from them, for good reason. They were barely over NHL .500 in the shitty Canadian division.

@Son_Of_Ray Oh, I'd say that the bot farms' efforts have been redirected by now, and they're amplifying whatever drivel the tabloid press is already trying to throw at him. (Meanwhile, I question at what point the Bengals content won't be enough to keep me using this awful platform...)

Very surprised at how low the Habs are. I'd have expected a higher projection (~100) given that key players (Hutson, Demidov, Slaf) are young, even with less injury luck and Suzuki/Caufield coming off career years. Curious to hear why they are projected to slide. @JFreshHockey

@norigoetz61 @mndamico @RiseFromTheAshZ They've been trying to develop him into that, but he doesn't seem to be capable. Need tough players for sure, but they need to be able to keep up. I think they should deal him while he still has value.

@ErrolCasuals @AJFenjoyer00 @domluszczyszyn 'Sometimes, less likely events happen, so why bother building models and analysing or predicting anything?' How would you feel if every game preview just said 'tonight, a game is going to happen between two teams, and either team could win'?

@JohnnyP_3 @mndamico He's not great offensively, but is good enough defensively that he's better, on aggregate, than Kapanen (if you believe Dom L.'s metrics). As a short-term fix, he'd have been a solid,but uninspiring, improvement, most likely.
