She absolutely knew, deliberately started scrambling the eggs with the intention of him eventually taking over and demonstrating that she really doesn’t have /control/ over anything, thus communicating to the audience that she couldn’t possibly be guilty of what she is accused of because she’s really just being controlled by whatever man is in her life. She hints at this with regards to her relationship with Sunny, and by extension her culpability in Theranos. Every aspect of their involvement in the doc was intentional. She *pretends* not to understand who’s on first. She *pretends* that she really doesn’t think she’s ever told a lie, even though that itself is a terribly lie. Everything is meant to communicate that she is just a hapless autist with good intentions who stumbled into this debacle, but is ultimately undeserving of incarceration. This is all very obvious if you have ever encountered someone who you know believes they can manipulate you.
Essentially the entire first act of You Can See Everything boils down to a debate over whether or not Elizabeth Holmes *knew* Billy would intervene to handle business with the scrambled eggs, or if she was just honestly doing a terrible fork job & didn't realize

Every time we try to address this issue, tons of people show up trying to tell you that it’s not actually that big of a deal, that it’s not all that common, that you are bigoted in some way for being repulsed by it. Pure gaslighting. I’ve seen this behavior destroy organizations and fracture movements in real time. You cannot be endlessly accommodating to self obsessed narcissists who are actually just bad people who happened to learn the right combination of words to use to make their bullying self-aggrandizement seem righteous!
This is exactly the reason that it’s so important for us to actually talk about these dynamics and why we should refuse this kind of behavior instead of just pretending it’s not a problem until it blows up and the right wing mediasphere gobbles it up for culture war fodder!
