@wendyknowler And delete the little story at the beginning. I’ve been trying to get an issue resolved with @Discovery_SA for weeks… this was today’s reply!

I’m fostering two puppies from an overcrowded shelter. If you’re in Jo’burg and want to adopt one or both, let me know! They’re insanely cute.

Incredible news from the #DjaFaunalReserve in Cameroon! Recently, our team, in collaboration with the reserve’s conservation service, rescued a female pangolin from poachers. Just three days after her rescue, she miraculously gave birth to a male tricuspid-scaled pangolin! Pangolins, classified as endangered by the @IUCN , are among the most trafficked mammals globally. Their protection is vital—not only for their survival but also for maintaining ecosystem balance, as they help control termite and ant populations. By safeguarding these gentle creatures, we are also ensuring the health of our forests! #AfricanConservation

Anyone trimming their trees in Johannesburg, please, please help! The Johannesburg Zoo is in desperate need of food for their wildlife. If you could donate the trimmings of False Olive and Acacia to the Johannesburg Zoo, you will literally save the lives of the animals there. They will come immediately to remove branches and bark for the elephants, eland, buffalo and giraffes to eat. Johannesburg Zoo list of indigenous trees that their herbivores eat: - Sickle bush tree - Tamboti - Knob Tree - Bushwillow - Buffalo thorn - Mulberry - White stinkwood - Rhus Lancea - False Olive - Yellowwood - Fever tree - Natal Mahogany - Weeping boer bean If you wish to donate your leaves and branches as food for Joburg Zoo’s herbivore gang, please get in touch with the following zookeepers: Piet: 082 437 0266 Philemon: 067 055 0002 Richard: 078 540 2043

Endangered elephants need our help. When calves are orphaned, they require round-the-clock care, milk on demand & comfort. Adopt an orphan today & help us save the animals you love: sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/adopt (This cute chap is Toto, the latest orphan to join our adoption program)

Swimming with dolphins and forcing them to live in tanks their entire lives—instead of spending time with their pods, diving deep and swimming long distances—is not cool. It's animal cruelty.
