The funny thing is wealth is about luck. This is also why I get genuinely irritated when people shame poor people. You can be lucky with your hard work, or you can be lucky enough to be born into wealth, connections, the right country, the right industry or the right moment. There is almost nothing a successful person has done that nobody else has attempted. Thousands of people have worked just as hard, taken similar risks, built similar businesses, made similar investments and still failed. And honestly, some of the rhetoric around relationships exposes how little people understand this. You say you don’t want to marry a poor man because you want financial security. Fair enough. But if becoming rich were as straightforward as people make it sound, you that don’t want to marry a poor man would simply become rich yourself and then make the man rich.
