Looking for private golf member viewpoints on inviting guests. How do you handle? Charge/no charge? My current stance: if I invite you it’s my treat. Three guests with lunch/beers is typically $800 at my club. Result is far fewer invites, but they mean a lot more.

Paid off our house four years ago at 37. Many will argue I’m an idiot for being mortgage free on a $1.2mm house, but the feeling of freedom is amazing. Have had the best sleep of my life since.
Great meeting with the small competitor to my W2. He’s ready to retire in the next few years and selling to me would be a good fit. Getting five years of financials, employees/comp, and revenue breakdown percentages. 2023 projected at $7mm revenue and $1.7mm cash flow.
Taking the first step to buying a business as I mentioned in my last post. Meeting is set with a smaller current competitor to discuss his exit plan. He wants to retire in the next few years which seems to line up well. Let’s give it a shot.
Played poker at my country club last night. Only one at the table with a W2. The others own something ranging from a few hundred million net worth hedge fund guy down to one that owns three bars. The common connection is they all have flexibility to use their time how they want.
