Well done to Colburn Year 5 and 6 girls for participating in the girls Football League Competition. Everyone worked well as a team and showed great sportsmanship!
On Wednesday 11th October we had our Stone age visitor in who was amazing. She show us clothes, tools, pots and even how they lived! We had a chance to draw using a range of chalk and charcoal. We hope she comes back again! @history_to_life
On 5th October 2023 Colburn girls joined in the Football League Competitions and played against Michael Syddall. All girls played really well and showed great sportsmanship! Well done Colburn!
With Halloween fast approaching, are the Year Two children brave enough to read some spooky stories and terrifying tales?
We have started the year with a whole school writing unit from @theliteracytree . We were all immersed into 'Flooded' by Mariajo Ilustrajo. What a fantastic start using writing roots! Watch this space for more exciting starters into new books and some fantastic writing!
To celebrate World Mental Health Day, KS2 took part in a live 'Resilience Workshop' via Zoom. Thanks Adam @onegoalltd
FS2 thoroughly enjoyed an online story time with author and illustrator duo Michelle Robinson and Tom Knight. They shared their latest book, 'WHEN COOKIE CRUMBLED!' It was about being true to yourself and the power of friendship. Thank you @scholasticuk @scholasticukTch

Our children are really starting to enjoy our new Forest School area. This week, Year 2 were making emotion nature faces and exploring the new area. They were also working out how to be safe in the area.
FS1 had an exciting trip to the Library on Friday. They enjoyed looking around and having Storytime read by some CRACCL volunteers. Thank you @craccl_nyorks.
Year 2's watercolour and ink portraits of Queen Victoria. We think that they have captured Queen Victoria's notoriously serious facial expression very well!
A huge thank you to all the sports leaders @twschool who made the Summer Sports Day Y5 transition event so successful. We had a fab time taking part in rounders matches, athletic events and the tug of war.
Amazing surprise for 1 lucky person in Y1! In PSHE, Y1 were thinking about people who were special to them and why. All the children made a card for that person. 1 child chose their idol, Jack Grealish. Jack replied with a signed photo! Thank you @ManCity @JackGrealish
There are 'sew' many skills and techniques being learnt in our Year 3 and 4 Sewing Club... We can't wait to see the finished products!
Year 3 had a fantastic day at Murton Park where we learnt all about being a Roman soldier. We dressed in tunics and made oil lamps and wrote our names in Latin. @murtonpark

We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded a Local School Nature Grant, thanks to players of the People's Postcode Lottery! We will be benefitting from various equipment for our new Forest School's Project that we are launching in September. @LtL_News @PostcodeLottery
Y1 carried out a very important science experiment to see if snails prefer wet or dry conditions. They collected snails and placed them in-between a wet and a dry paper towel. They as they moved towards the wet paper towels. Disclaimer:No snails were harmed during the experiment!
