Co-Parenting 🔽 I get a lot of questions about coparenting, I can tell people is that every situation is different. But a big part that ppl should realize is that you have to put your personal pride aside,and do what’s best for your child. REPEAT put your PRIDE ASIDE 🗣️
What do your kids need most from you after divorce? (apart from lots of love). They need consistency and routines. They need to know what’s coming next. Establishing a custody schedule should be your top priority as coparents. Follow me for tips on effective coparenting.
My number one parenting-a-brand-newborn advice is, if you are fortunate enough to have a participating partner: divide the night from 8pm to 8am into two shifts. Sleep separately so each partner gets 6 hours of truly uninterrupted, dedicated sleep.
If you coparent, no matter how much you dislike the other person, please don’t talk trash about them around the child. I absolutely hated it when my parents did it growing up. Your child loves both of you and doesn’t need to hear your negative comments about the other person.
I cannot say this enough. If you are having to coparent and the father genuinely wants to be involved in their child’s life, LET THEM. Don’t keep your child from their father just because of your negative feelings towards them.
Coparenting tip: Your ex’s new girlfriend isn’t always a “threat”. Change your mindset & realize that they can actually be extremely helpful. This took me a long time to learn while coparenting with Coop’s dad.
