I’ve gone… From man who screamed about how emotional intimacy/connection doesn’t exists & assaulted me routinely to punish me for “holding [his] needs & rights hostage over a bs emotional fantasy”… To a man who simply does not function without it. Life lessons.
Argued w/ the BF. He was doing something easy for him that was sabotaging my sleep & I snapped. Having someone hear your issue out, think it through, & approach with calm solutions *that directly address your primary concern*, then *act on them* is 🤯 after the guys I’ve known.
Ex got married in a surprise ceremony & my oldest tells me they expect me to be upset. I’m actually really proud of myself in this moment. I feel nothing about it, it doesn’t impact my life at all. I remember reading that feeling nothing was the goal. It really happened.
He triggers my old flashbacks & thought spirals by treating me well; working through it with him releases subconscious pain. I’m pretty sure I read that this could happen, but I didn’t see it coming.
A narcissist only values how ‘useful’ you are to them, nothing more.

@exwifeofthenarc Yes. It’s a record that plays over and over everyday. Only, as they get older, the cracks and scratches start to appear. What once appeared to be an idiosyncrasy or bad habit becomes a debilitating compulsion that must be indulged & prioritized or the world will fall apart.
