DGPT Idlewild profiles have some odd errors. But the two that have me scratching my head are 18 and 5 FPO where the elevation tee to basket is reversed. @DiscGolfProTour @DiscGolfNetwork @discGolfZulu
Elevation profiles on DGPT hole maps are over simplified to the point of making what is hard to depict on video even more confusing... 1) The slope does not flatten out at the basket and gets steeper right behind. 4) The terrain climbs up after crossing the second pond.
Hole 6, Sunset Hills rises 6 ft from tee to basket. I was told that can't be true by someone on the course. When looking back from the basket the lower terrain rising to the tee makes it appear higher but the gradual (and greater) rise to the basket is difficult to perceive.
DGPT does not provide elevation change for courses on tour even though commentary mentions how it affects each fairway. Here it is for Sunset Hills at Ledgestone 2025. After watching coverage the two most deceptive are #7 and #18 @DiscGolfProTour @NetworkDisc @jeffspring

When I pointed out that the DGPT distance for hole 4 at KCWO was incorrect, many people thought that the elevation change was the reason the distance was actually longer...it isn't! If you measure the curve of the terrain the added distance is less than 1% @DiscGolfProTour
Adding to this issue, during the FPO round today Dixon Jowers gave distances to a tiny tree on the fairway as 340ft to the tee and 510ft to the basket which adds to 850ft and no one caught it during the broadcast. Maybe during MPO...

Eagles Crossing is a course with all the amenities. The tee signs however don't include any elevation information which can easily be displayed along with other information when using geo-referenced imagery. @Ezra_Aderhold @CViolationpod @discGolfZulu

Maps drawn to scale would help tell the story better. I found no evidence that the MPO tee is 900 feet from the pin. More like 865 (85 feet behind the FPO tee which is right at 780ft) The PDGA hole map from USWDGC last year is terribly out of scale.

Going to be lots of discussion about this hole this week. These graphics should be helpful.
Hole 4 at Harvey Penick. Cameras and drones don't depict terrain steepness very well. Elevation drop is 40ft for FPO and 52ft for MPO. Also see how the OB green comes into play. (feel free to repost) @FelixSuszek @statmando @JomezPro @TeamPhilo @discGolfZulu @perksofdiscgolf
Rather than dress up the crew, why not dress up the hole maps? Create a better viewer experience with more detail. Having an accurate map drawn to scale map would also allow shot tracking which is LONG overdue on tour coverage. @JomezPro @DiscGolfProTour @EricMcCabe11674
