Bad drug policy kills. We need to also focus on policies that save lives like safe supply and decriminalization. Pharma is bad, but govt policy is arguably worse. usatoday.com/story/news/pol…

It's also important to remember that John Mulaney is a white, wealthy and privileged person who can pay for private care. Many many people can afford to do so and they are just as deserving of high quality treatment.

Some say addiction a disease, others say a symptom of mental illness or trauma. But no one chooses to experience a substance use disorder. We can choose to show compassion and love for someone seeking help for an extremely stigmatized issue.

SCS not only saved my life but enabled me to live one. It gave me the ability to create this beautiful family and find the recovery I have today. People don't recover when they're gone.

Sad. The people here built a precarious, but established, community. No, it was not safe, sanitary, or secure housing. But they had nowhere to go. Where will they go now? @CityWindsorON needs to house and support these people.

Today @CityWindsorON evicted people from a longstanding encampment. We have met these folks- they are lovely humans with complex needs. Most important is low barrier, supportive housing in a harm reduction environment. @drewdilkens what are you doing to support these folks?

Decriminalization means recognizing that substance use is a public health issue, NOT a criminal issue. It means providing people support, not punishment.
