At Milimani, my lawyers faced constant frustration from the ODPP office. For four long hours, they refused to provide my case number. Finally, I was taken to court and released on a Ksh. 30,000 cash bail at 2:30 p.m.

They allowed my wife and lawyers to see me but still refused cash bail, despite Article 49(1)(h) entitling every arrested person to it. I was unlawfully detained all night long in Kamukunji. Kamukunji police station officers said they were under orders not to release me on bail.

My lawyers tried to arrange for cash bail, but the request was denied. They took us in circles. Eventually, they transferred me to Kamukunji Police Station. The officers there were friendly.

They took my fingerprints and locked me in a holding room for hours. My lawyers were denied access. I was not given any food, even though I was fasting. I requested for my phones, which had been illegally confiscated, but they refused.

After several hours of driving me around Nairobi, they took me to Nairobi Area Police Headquarters and handed me over to another DCI team. They asked if I knew why I was arrested. I said No. They later told me I was arrested because of a complain from Hussein Mohamed.

We headed to DCI HQ along Kiambu Road, but just before entering, they abruptly turned around. Throughout, one of them was constantly in touch with some high profile individual who I assumed was their boss, waiting for more orders.

They drove me around Nairobi for over four hours. My car ran out of fuel. They used some of the money they found in my car to pay for more fuel and kept the rest of the money which is still missing.

Along the way they ordered me to unlock my phone & delete all my social media accounts. I refused. One of them slapped me. They demanded I delete tweets that mentioned Hussein Mohamed, Ruto's Spokesman. I refused to delete the tweets making them to shower me with countless slaps.

On July 17, 2024, just before noon, as I was leaving an office in Gigiri after a business meeting. Out of nowhere, five masked strangers surrounded me. They claimed to be DCI officers but refused to show their work IDs.
