@TheAcademy You watched and broadcast a live assault to millions of people around the world, then awarded a man who committed said assault immediately afterwards without removing him from the building or having him arrested for the crime. That's the definition of condoning the violence.

Beast (2017) Dir. Michael Pearce. Stylish, cool and twisted. This thriller has some genuinely terrifying moments and some fantastic performances. A few moments are a bit heavy handed, though overall a very cool, well made film. 7/10. #johnnyflynn #beast #movie

Versus (2000) Dir. Ryuhei Kitamura. I can completely understand why some would find this movie stupid, ridiculous and a bit crazy. I must say though, it is so much fun from start to end. The perfect mix of action/horror/comedy. 7/10 #versus #sequel

Big Fish (2003) Dir. Tim Burton. Colourful, exaggerated, fantastical and unbelievable. When this film is good, it is great but when it slows it can become a tiresome bore - much like Edward's stories! 6/10 #timburton #bigfish

Jack and Jill (2011) Dir. Dennis Dugan. I like to think the film has a deeper meaning, giving a critique of Hollywood, how money controls the studio system and how an actors soul can be sold. Likely not though, this is probably just trash. 1/10 #terrible #justterrible #toilet

Closer (2004) Dir. Mike Nichols. An overly dramatic and, at parts, cringeworthy film about rich people having affairs. Unrelatable for most & some laughable dialogue. Wonderful cinematography though. Also features a strip club that only plays one song. 5/10 #closer #film #review

Eighth Grade (2018) Dir. Bo Burnham. Elsie Fisher is a wonderful young actor with a very promising career ahead, she really shines in the anxiety inducing drama. One too many monologues caused more yawn than laugh, not a bad film, but not quite great. 6/10 #youtube #anx #film

Ratcatcher (1999) Dir. Lynne Ramsay. A dive into the trash streets of 1973 Glasgow with memorable performances & unsettling scenes. A social and cultural critique that hits you with unpleasant truths. Bleak from start to finish, this muddy canal drama takes no prisoners. 7/10

Very excited for this one, the cast looks fantastic! Getting Mark Rylance is anything but wholesome though, he is probably the most talented actor the UK has to offer right now.
