It still blows my mind that PAs are regulated by the same body as doctors. Given that they don’t have the same level of training or independence, it just doesn’t make sense to group them in the same regulatory framework. It definitely blurs the lines between the two.

On each of my last few on-calls, I have seen pts who have come to harm from not being able to see a doctor. The pts recognised something was wrong. Contacted the GP. Fobbed off onto a noctor, who made the wrong diagnosis and prescribed the wrong treatment. One person 1/

@JimBethell In 2008, members of the Lords could claim about £82.50 per day (£161 today). In 2025, members of the HoL could claim £371 per day: an incredible 230% INCREASE over inflation. I find this incredible for a parasitic anachronism which contributes very little to society. (3/5)
