Sophomore year....Varsity start at QB and punter.

Dear coaches: Keep in mind, we get to do what we do because of the players. Because there are athletes who enjoy the game and want to learn how to play it. It starts with them. Without them, we wouldn’t get to do what we get to do. Be very careful of getting this twisted by thinking they are there for us. We are here for them, period.

Parents, if any of these “scouts” approach you from these services: NCSA Field Level NSR SPORTS RECRUITS GO BIG RECRUITING They will take your money, create a profile on a website that nobody uses and never return your calls or answer your questions. RUN AWAY‼️

⚾️We're excited to announce Jaden Bloomer as our new Varsity Baseball Head Coach! Coach Bloomer has served as a Southview assistant for the past three seasons. A former collegiate player at the University of Findlay, he also served as a student assistant coach for the Oilers.

One thing I hate is when parents and players automatically assume I'm a good coach because I played Major League Baseball. Over the years, I've been around some incredible coaches who never played at a particularly high level. I've also been around former professional and Major League players who weren't very good coaches. My playing career has nothing to do with whether I'm the right coach for a player. What should matter is whether a coach can help the player standing in front of him today, regardless of where he played in the past. Can he communicate and connect with the player? Can he identify what the player actually needs? Can he build confidence without lowering expectations? Can he teach in a way the player understands? Can he genuinely help the player improve? A playing résumé might open the door, but actually being good at coaching is what changes players.

Win the dugout game!!

🗣️Serious ⚾️players: Hopefully at some point you will realize that video games and other screen time priorities don’t help you achieve your goals! And when you do choose to spend more time on📱🎮 over ⚾️, don’t blame your coach when you don’t play, don’t succeed & don’t get a chance at the next level! #BaseballTruth

What a lot of people seem to neglect - the benefits of running don’t end with getting extra bag. 1B holds longer, Middle wants to leave pos quicker, catcher isn’t as concerned about framing, P often forced to push tempo (benefits of this are huge which is why dudes who just live in “bullpen setting” struggled), pitch call changes dramatically as P/C don’t want offspeed/in dirt so a lot of offspeed left up and A LOT of fastballs away.

@Coach_KGraber Obviously different level - but we usually didn’t even need the delay. (‘U-C-L-A’)… One way lead, pick, one way lead, pick, 1st move SB standing into 2B. Became such a feel amongst kids when to go.

Pressure is a privilege. It means things are expected of you. Embrace your preparation & always be grateful for the opportunity to push yourself & improve. be better today than you were yesterday, and be better tomorrow than you were today🔨

The K% and BB% numbers are the most astonishing. After strike one, hitters strike out 4x as often as they walk; after ball one, they walk over 20% of the time.

Some of the best baseball players I ever coached spent their falls in shoulder pads or on a pitch. They arrived in the spring as competitors, not just players. The scoreboard pressure, the different locker room, the coach with a different voice. You cannot buy that at a showcase.
