@ThomasJ2912 @BaseballDudes48 Using Pitch smart guidelines is the ticket, but everything you mentioned after PS is in conflict with the PS guidance;just use PS. But most importantly, enforce the PS limits and enforce forfeits/banning of coaches that violate the PS limits. PS and ACCOUNTABILITY is needed
Been throwing curveballs for the last 35ish years. It’s a fun pitch to throw. For me in my career I got to the point where I was comfortable throwing it in any count to any location to righties and lefties. For a strike, for a put away pitch in the dirt, outside to lefties and…
More Truth.
@BaseballDudes48 Current pitch limits are just there to placate the masses into thinking they are trying to protect kids. If they really cared, every tournament would use Pitch Smart, PLUS, add limits to the number of pitches a pitcher can throw per inning(35) and limit to 1 game per day.
@BaseballDudes48 And school ball. Middle school and high school.
@BaseballDudes48 It's a problem at all levels, from kid pitch to high school. And it's rec and travel. All of it.
This looks a lot like the manual I got my first day on campus in D1!
The kids are victim to adult ignorance, willful ignorance, ego and greed. The information is out there. It’s talked about but we have so called “baseball people” making guidelines for pitchers in tournaments that use innings and outs to monitor pitchers workloads instead of pitch…

Here’s a couple charts (documents) that are up on our site. These along with nearly two dozen others can be found on the Free Documents page. Throwing plans, pitching charts, hitting charts, our DIY Pitching Mound plans and many others are always available. Hope you find…
5 Adjustments that Changed the Course of my Career: 1. Pitching inside. In my 7th season, I had a pitching coach (Bob McClure) who spent a lot of time with us (his pitching staff) talking about how to use the inside part of the plate. How it affected hitters. How it opened up…
@JasonSilvers12 @BaseballDudes48 Always concerned about whether or not we as a staff are allowing them to be free of this fear… This season has been a constant battle to build confidence and consistency, while trying to undo old bad habits
💯 they're at their best when they can play loose and free with no fear of failing.

Fear is enemy #1 IMO.
These guys, whoever they are, continually pumps out great wisdom when it comes to the game of baseball and youth coaching. Listen to them, and @CoachDavidKlein for some of the best advice you could ask for in coaching the kids.

@BaseballDudes48 100%. Watching my son shed his mental blocks this year. Changed teams from a toxic coach who for years made him question his instincts & fear his reactions. He played AMAZING yesterday, as we (& he) know he can. Exciting to watch.
First thing listed is most important. Developing proper throwing mechanics at a young age is crucial.

Everyone has a job on every ball in play. Thirty situations covered in our Cuts & Relays flip books, flash cards and full size books.
We will look back on this era and be disappointed we didn’t do more to regulate pitch counts for youth pitchers pitching on multiple teams. We have made so many advancements in pitching technology, but there’s still more we can be doing to protect young, growing pitchers.

First thing listed is most important. Developing proper throwing mechanics at a young age is crucial.
ARM CARE is… • Developing proper throwing mechanics. • Pre season throwing plan. • Pre season/early season pitch count progression. • Total body strength. • Nutrition • Weekly between game throwing routines. • Listening to your arm. • Not pitching with a lower body…
@BaseballDudes48 @TreadHQ @TurnerGivens The front shoulder "drive" fixes a lot of issues. Getting the player to trust the feeling of taking it to the catcher/target really subtly fixes such things as flying open up top early.
@BaseballDudes48 Players looking for their hat or glove in between innings. Finally told my kids, if I see it I'll just put someone else in. How do you misplace equipment in a dugout?!
@BaseballDudes48 Do you know how many kids we've faced in tournaments so far this year that have either thrown 90+ pitches in one game or 100 total in back to back days? This is 11u I'm talking about too! I'll take a L any day of the week over ruining a kids arm. It's never worth it.
Landing a little early and pulling your sliders gloveside? Try throwing against your front shoulder or even using them as a sight for your target. 🎯 A cue from @TurnerGivens #TreadFam
