Americans will be able to order four Covid-19 rapid tests per household on a new website beginning January 19, officials say cnn.it/34WWfqt
@cnnbrk Why not automatically send them to U.S. households? Many seniors aren't going to know how to sign up for this online or will likely miss the information on who to call or request by mail. What data are they gathering or what is the logic of making people jump through hoops? dc
@DonnaCordova @cnnbrk Because that would make sense and it’s our government running the program.
@DonnaCordova @cnnbrk couple reasons, we don't have unlimited amounts of tests right now, so getting them to people who need them most is priority. Another reason is for every older person who needs one and can't figure it out , 20 "rural" voters will throw them in the trash b/c covid is a hoax.
@DonnaCordova @cnnbrk Cause it would cost money and the republican’s would fight against anything proposed by dems.
@DonnaCordova @cnnbrk Automatically sending them to people would be a waste. There is still a large % of people out there that don’t take Covid seriously, think it’s a hoax or would simply throw their tests away to “stick it to Biden.”
@DonnaCordova @cnnbrk Not everyone needs or wants tests. If the feds did send to everyone, many kits would be wasted.
@DonnaCordova @cnnbrk Prevent waste from people not caring
@DonnaCordova @cnnbrk The site will crash in minutes. Just send them to the homes.
