From February 2025 to December 2025, the consumer price index increased by 1.23%. On an annualized basis this works out to 1.47%. The 6 month period from June to December is even lower at 0.36% and 0.73% annualized.

According to StatsCan, the consumer price index has increased 2.4% in the 6 month period from Jan to Jul 2024. Prices will have to remain flat until Jan 2025 to stay at 2.4%.
