During the Labor Day heat wave and grid crisis, @ohmconnect and its 200k+ CA members were absolutely to avoiding blackouts. The top line numbers are simply remarkable: reduced peak loads by 1.5 gigawatt hours -- enough to power the entire City of San Francisco for two hours.

I was excited to see the PG&E/Tesla’s VPP program provide ~18MWs at peak and get paid $2 a kWh. But why did @ohmconnect customers – with their 250k smart thermostats, smart plugs, EV chargers, and (yes) batteries – get paid 22 cents a kWh? 7/10

California had its first @flexalert of 2022 last week. With over 200 MWs on standby, @ohmconnect was ready and we performed! But this also about CA’s broken #demandresponse and how we were underutilized and paid 11% per kWh of what Tesla got paid. ohmconnect.com/thought-leader… 1/10
