@alexsevigny Happy birthday, young man. Here's to another year filled with the art of conversation!
So, you are wise to doubt, I think. Adieu.
Laws are often made by fools, and even more often by those who fail at equity because they hate equality. Vain authorities resolving nothing
Maybe I shall return, but I do not blame you for the hesitation - how many sentences I have seen worse than the crime!
I have offered a window into my tower, my life and my peculiarities. Only then would it be sure for you to approach me as a Magistrate.
My time here on Twitter is now en passant to it's goal - to demonstrate my experience that would lend itself to reasonable judgements.
@MontaignesGuest What does it mean to you?
@MontaignesGuest Even I changed my most common last name to a more pleasing ring of “Montaigne” (where I am of) than my father’s “Eyquem”.
@MontaignesGuest Your last name is but a sound. What else is it when all is done?
@MontaignesGuest History tells us of 3 Socrates, 5 Platos, 8 Aristotles & 20 Demetrii. How many more she was not acquainted with?
@MontaignesGuest These are dashes of the pen common to a thousand people. And who hinders my groom from calling himself Pompey the Great?
@MontaignesGuest 'tis the thing that most prejudices and confounds families and descents. Is 3 or 4 dashes with a pen so easy to be varied?
@MontaignesGuest A scurvy custom & of very ill consequence that we have in France to call every one by the name of his manor or seigneury;
@MontaignesGuest Courtly dancing & feasts, I find pell-mell, is now common for all. Why should our sensibilities for names be any different?
@MontaignesGuest I see the same heralds and insignias across the world. There are wars without borders, lacking armies and without travel.
@MontaignesGuest I am certain of my argument being likely applicable to your contemporary world sensibilities.
@MontaignesGuest I believe now I was critiquing France rather praising another. I my defence, I name the entire court. lol.
@MontaignesGuest Upon reflection perhaps I was as guilty as those I critiqued of behaviours that are both biased and unfair...
@MontaignesGuest I use to praise many cultures outside of Europe as “wild” & possessing, through nature, qualities of strength and stoicism.
@MontaignesGuest Even from countries as far away as the earth would allow, and the reverse is also true.
