To look at it another way, if every physician in the US is suddenly replaced by a nurse practitioner or physician assistant, the health care costs for the average American citizen would go down ~5%. The quality of that healthcare would dramatically decline. This shows the true value the American public gets from their physicians. They are a huge contributor to the quality of care but only contribute to a small portion of the cost.

The code is open sourced and fully vetted at this point. The network supporting that code is vast and robust supported by megawatts of power. It is the opposite of trust based. It is trust-less, which means trust is not needed. It has been around for 15 years and has not been “hacked”. The way the network is set up prevents detrimental changes/hacking. I am not saying it is perfect, but it is better than other chains given its distribution and network. It is unlikely any other chain or coin can get to this level of security and distribution in a trust-less way.

It has some features of a bubble (rapid rise with hard corrections). However, bubbles exist when price is driven by pure speculation rather than intrinsic value. So the question is reduced to “Does bitcoin have intrinsic value that drives its price in a specific currency”. That has been argued for over 10 year now. There are arguments on both sides. The arguments change based on which currency it is valued in. Some very large and prestigious institutions now consider bitcoin to have significant intrinsic value (I.e. Blackrock). Even Jerome Powell of the US Federal Reserve said yesterday that bitcoin is similar to gold. Institutions are adopting bitcoin. Bubbles usually burst and disappear. However, bitcoin has been coming back for over a decade now. Perhaps it is time to ask why it keeps coming back. Bitcoin is often compared to the tulip bubble in 1637. That bubble lasted less than one year. Why does bitcoin come back from a “bubble “ every four years?
