@CourageousRo How does all the machismo and bravado help? The party has a disconnect with the common people. Inspite of having governments in centre, state and municipality, some of the most basic development work is also not getting done. People just keep on chasing their local reps around.

@BJP4India Lack of development is evident in the country but he would never speak on that. Vande Bharat, some flashy highways and glitz buildings are not parameters of development. On the ground people still struggle bigtime to get their work done from their local representatives.

@MattooShashank His own son Dhruv Goyal, has studied at Harvard University and has worked in New York. Most of these politicians just preach but have different rules for common people. Even when more than 90% of government schools have shut down in India. The remaining are in a pathetic state.

People are getting carried away by Elon Musk’s views on a few Indian oligarchs, treating them as an attack on India itself. Since when did criticism of a few powerful businessmen become criticism of an entire nation? Elon Musk is influential, no doubt. But influence does not make every opinion an act of foreign interference. He is expressing his views on a few Indian businessmen - just as millions on X express their views on Musk, Trump, Modi, or anyone else. Are his views correct? That’s debatable. They should be challenged with facts and counterarguments, not dismissed as an attack on India merely because they come from a foreigner. That is the entire point of free speech. Many argue that India should have its own social media platform. Absolutely. But what would be the point if its unwritten rule were that only pro-government views are welcome? A platform that allows praise but discourages criticism isn't a free-speech platform. It is just another echo chamber - or an extension of Godi media. And let’s be clear: India is not its government. India is not its billionaires. And criticism of the government or a few oligarchs is not an attack on 1.4 billion Indians. Tomorrow, if Adani criticises Elon Musk, should Americans call it foreign interference? Or should they simply debate whether Adani is right? The same principle must apply both ways. And here’s the irony. Those who consider using X a matter of patriotism when defending India against foreign criticism should ask themselves a simple question: If you genuinely believe Elon Musk’s platform is being used to interfere in India’s affairs, why are you still using it? I feel that the real test of patriotism isn't defending a few powerful businessmen from criticism.
