Then show us the evidence, Minister. Because the UN’s own published figures appear to tell a very different story. UN OCHA reported more than 2,300 Palestinians, including more than 1,000 children, displaced in 2026 in the context of settler attacks and related access restrictions. UNICEF reported the same broad figure for the first six months of 2026. So where exactly did Penny Wong get 15,000 children? This is an enormous discrepancy. A Foreign Minister speaking for Australia at the United Nations has a responsibility to get the facts right — especially when making claims about Israelis and Palestinians. And I have not forgotten her visit to Israel after October 7. More than 100 days after the massacre, Wong travelled to Israel, but did not visit the devastated communities in southern Israel where Hamas carried out the October 7 massacre, despite an offer from the Israeli government to visit them. Yes, she did meet some hostage families and survivors — I will acknowledge that because facts matter. But why would Australia’s Foreign Minister not stand in the communities where Jewish families were murdered, homes were burned and people were kidnapped? And look at what Australian Jews have faced since October 7. Synagogues attacked. Jewish schools and childcare facilities threatened. Antisemitic graffiti and intimidation. The Adass Israel Synagogue attack. And the horrific antisemitic Bondi terrorist attack during Hanukkah. This is happening to Australian Jews now. So when our Foreign Minister goes to the UN and presents an extraordinary figure about “settler violence” involving 15,000 children, Australians have every right to ask: WHERE DID THIS NUMBER COME FROM? Penny Wong should publish the source, methodology and definition behind the figure. If she cannot substantiate it, she should correct the record. Criticising an Israeli government policy is legitimate. Spreading an inaccurate or unsupported statistic about Israel and Jews is not. Australian Jews deserve facts. Australians deserve facts. Het wordt van kwaad tot erger. Na het gesprek met ex-terrorist AlSharaa, had @MinPres Jetten vandaag een gesprek met president #Pezeshkian van Iran. De Teheran Times maakt er trotst melding van. Jetten zegt de mensenrechten onder de aandacht te hebben gebracht. Wat hij niet begrijpt, is dat die geschonden blijven zolang het mullahregime aan de macht is. Zijn gesprek draagt daaraan bij.

Op uitnodiging van #PRO Kamerlid @KatiPiri komt de zoon van Marwan, Arab Barghouti vanmiddag in de Tweede Kamer pleiten voor zijn vaders vrijlating. Arab bagatelliseert het terrorisme van zijn vader. In een recent interview met ‘the Internationalist’ zegt Arab “terrorisme is een koloniaal woord, dat gebruikt wordt tegen degenen die hun land verdedigen”. Hij noemt zijn vader “een rolmodel”. Kati Piri is echt de weg kwijt. De Israëlische politicus #BenGvir mag terecht NL niet in wegens zijn ophitsende taal. Maar een Palestijn die zijn terroristische vader een “rolmodel” noemt, krijgt een warm welkom vd PRO fractie in ons parlement.
