The way this I portrayed, makes it look like socialists pushed for it. The biggest irony is that income tax came into law to finance the newly created and privately owned federal reserve system - to finance debt created out thin air by a private central bank, you needed income tax - both goes against the constitution. A private central bank was something the founding fathers greatly feared and because they saw how it had corrupted Europe and made nations ruled by banking cartels.
