If you're the type of Christian who'd tell David he needs to pray for Goliath rather than meet him of the battlefield...we can't be friends. I prefer to surround myself with people who recognize the difference between loving our personal enemies and refusing to confront evil. Who know the difference between vengeance and justice...and who can see the very real distinction from praying for someone's soul and permitting them to continue evil against innocent people. Yes, Scripture commands mercy. It does not command moral paralysis.

Guild Wars was a part of my life since my high school days, but after 17 years of playing and following its story into GW2—I dropped the game. By the end of End of Dragons, that was the end of Guild Wars 2 for me. The storytelling had shifted too far from what I once loved: immersive world-building, stories of love and sacrifice, wars, dragons, ancient civilizations, and one magnificently charismatic Joko... ...to writing that increasingly sounded like the characters had been isekai'd straight out of 2020-something Seattle, dropped into a fantasy world, and told to fight for "social justice." I don't play fantasy games because I want the fictional world to sound like mine. I play them because I want to disappear into theirs. And this is where my palm's get sweaty... I'm genuinely excited for Aion 2's global launch, but knowing that ArenaNet is part of the larger NCSoft family makes me hope—quite strongly—that the Aion 2 team doesn't look to ANet for advice on how to "Westernize" its storytelling for a global audience. In fact, I don't want Aion 2's story "Westernized" at all beyond what's genuinely necessary for translation and localization. Don't rewrite characters for "Western" tastes. Don't alter NPCs to accommodate whatever ideological fad is currently fashionable in Western entertainment. Don't inject American culture-war politics into a Korean fantasy world because somebody thinks Western audiences need to see ourselves reflected in everything we consume. We don't. We really really don't. Translate the words. Preserve the culture. Preserve the characters. Preserve the story. I don't want Korea's interpretation of what Western entertainment thinks I want. I want Korea's Aion 2.

This afternoon, during my youngest son’s 13th birthday celebration, I spent time with some dear friends who are like family to me. As we talked, we all agreed on how late the hour is and on the magnitude of the times and seasons in which we live. We also agreed that what we are witnessing today may very well be a preview of what the future will look like for Israel after the rapture - a world leader who appears friendly toward our nation, brokers a peace agreement, and even allows the temple to be rebuilt, only to reveal his true nature and turn completely against her. These are truly historic and biblical times. Stay close to the Lord. Remain rooted in His Word.
