The "context is RAM, memory is SSD" framing is useful, but I think the next step is making the agents themselves disposable. Don't preserve the chat. Preserve the research state. Hypotheses, candidates, lineage, tool results, failed experiments, verified lessons. Then give every new worker a fresh, task-specific context assembled from that state. I've been building toward something similar with a governed local control plane connecting frontier models to local execution, and this is increasingly where the architecture ends up. The hard problem isn't giving an agent more memory. It's deciding what deserves to survive, what actually counts as evidence, and what the agent is allowed to change. Once those live outside the model, swapping Claude, Codex, Grok, Jev, GPT Web or a local model becomes much less important. The intelligence can change. State, evidence and authority shouldn't.

I think the key distinction is that the harness doesn't disappear. It moves down a layer. Let the frontier model decide where to search, branch, mutate, retry or stop. But keep state, evaluation, permissions, spend and evidence outside the model. Models should own exploration. The system should own truth.

20 parallel Grok agents is impressive, but I keep wondering about the economics of this. How much usage are those 20 agents actually burning? We're going in a slightly different direction. One autonomous orchestration layer that can hand work to Codex/Claude/Grok, cloud workers or local compute depending on what the task actually needs.
