I got to experience Passover in the most traditional community on planet earth and it was AMAZING.
i got to experience the kindness of some of the most warm, loving people in the world. although my parents have not been supportive of me, these people have welcomed me, cheered me on, helped me become a better Jew and given me a sense of belonging. 2/
i just spent the past week in Kyrias Joel, the most insular Hasidic Jewish community in the world. here's some of my thoughts - the biggest highlight was meeting R'Aaron Tietelbaum, the Grand Rabbi of the Satmar Hasidim. I consider myself Satmar, as I had a Satmar Bar Mitzvah. 1/

A security booth is being setup outside the Satmar Shul on South Remsen Avenue to ensure safety and security in the neighborhood. The booth will be manned by Chaverim volunteers starting on Pesach.

RJA hosted today a Pre- Passover visit to Satmar Matza bakery in Monsey with State & local law enforcement. It was a beautiful cultural experience with the participation of Ramapo Police Dept, Haverstraw Police, Spring Valley Police, Rockland Sheriff, and NYS Police.
