Fons @Haifons

@tcboyle Thanks for making it all all clear.

@tcboyle Ah Mr. Boyle, as so often, you know how to make me curious! So the 'Direction' to the 'Way' home got lost meanwhile? And Hanser doing AN English edition, you say? What about THE US/Engl edition? Time will tell, I guess.

@tcboyle His Bandini seems to have been quite a fellow.Coming from cold Colorado to sunny LA,writing all those stories,he reminds me of our friend Robb, who enjoyed us with his vignettes over all the MB years, but he also reminds me on some pages of an author with a complicated middlename.

@tcboyle That’s a great plan!So you definitely recommend the oeuvre of that author with the complicated middlename! but, may I tell you, that for the moment I’m hooked by a brick, ‘Bandini Quartet’, John Fante.I had never heard that author’s name till Georgie adviced me as a must to read.

@tcboyle_de @tcboyle Der Chef verlässt das sinkende Schiff, der Meister bleibt und was macht ein kleiner Leser, wenn er keinen Chef hat, der ihm zeigt wie man in den blauen Himmel kommt?

@tcboyle I will do so,but be aware, that the coming rule of your Big country in 4yrs,when there will be no more election needed to find its man in charge, we tiny country folks are ruled for ever by the blue blooded father to son system.Soon the now Little Grand Duke (42) will be in charge

@tcboyle Give that little fellow a birthday hug from the old bearded tiny country man and have mercy with him by telling him not too frightening stories about the worms coming out of the cherries his big brother likes to eat.

@tcboyle Good to see you getting out of the cave,Mr.Bolye after the 6th disaster.I was on the point to tell the Duke that you were all ready for the house switching, but, seeing that pic of your beloved beach makes me think that you better wait a bit about what future will bring.

@tcboyle A philosopher of very words, that's the way he kept it over the decades.

@tcboyle I guess they both brought up interesting thoughts on the subject, maybe like about 35 years ago when I told my then 4 year younger one, that I loved him so much that I could devour him, and he gave me his prompt answer, please daddy devour my brother first.

@tcboyle I doubt that W and H would agree if you stopped reading aloud the BFG to them and explaining in details all about cannibalism. Or if you have turned the last page meanwhile, aren’t they asking for an encore?

@tcboyle Indeed. This year I could read BS from a real US hard cover with a special signature, against last year’s hard cover size UK edition having actually a soft cover.

@robert33466 @tcboyle I can't remember that story,Datsi. Now you are beating me once again in size!Any idea about till when one could meet that kind of beasts on Great Gatsby Land's roads? Btw.,I had to think of you number of times, when I was recently reading Colm Tóibín's latest novel "Long Island".

Mr.Boyle @tcboyle ,as I told you,our Athenian friend was visiting me for a couple of days.He went back home on Sunday, after we both had a great time together, your forum having made us friends for 21 years. He is sending his best greetings to YOU,his Captain and to all messagistas:

@Bar27483671Lynn @tcboyle You're right Lynn! We remembered stories, like all the bad boys of the message board getting dressed up in Scottish kilts. Or your own TCB waiting for Georgie and old me at your door, to greet us with a sharp knife in hands 🤣 🗡️

@sadsmiledude @tcboyle It was, Steve. Some collector must have been using that parking spot for his private parking ground.

@tcboyle YES, your forum did for sure a great job,to make your readers meet in real life and become lifelong friends. As for your P.S.,we would have needed more than half a dozen of stubborn Greek donkeys to make that piece move from the parking lot. No idea why it was stranded there.

@Bar27483671Lynn @kaytiemlee @robert33466 @tcboyle_de @berumuc @molldopeloob @caesiumfluorid Yep Lynn, it was the fifth time that Georgie and I met in real life in the 21 years of our friendship, which started by a short "Hi" message on Mr. Boyle's forum, shortly before you chimed in there as well.We met twice at my tiny country, once in Athens and twice on TCB German Tours

Lynn @Bar27483671Lynn, Kaytie @kaytiemlee, Datsi @robert33466, Holger @tcboyle_de, Bettina @berumuc, Marcel @molldopeloob, Ulli @caesiumfluorid and to far above:Mimi,Sandye,Robb,Doug,Mood, who have been in our TT +stories we remembered, thanks to a certain author and his books!

- Epikur Empty is the philosophical talk which does not cure human desire. As medicine is useless which does not heal the illnesses, it is with phoilosophy if it does away with human desires. - Epicurus Hubert Schleichert, Von Platon bis Wittgentsein - Ein Philosophisches Lesebuch, Beck, 1999, S. 6

@Bar27483671Lynn @tcboyle We had a great time together without dancing. We did a lot of talking and I managed to surprise him by showing him some nice spots in the City and beyond. Quoting Mr.Boyle,‘that was not my ride’,I just wanted to impress Georgie for his 21 year long teasing about the country’s size
