@SalsaTekila You can reprogram the impulses. Every subconscious reaction we have in life is based on past implicit learning. In the same way our neurology learned we can relearn something that works better.

After a big win, do you tend to get more aggressive, more cautious, or stay roughly the same?

@mTraderNDX When the brain switched off, the logical choice was gone. That’s not fully blame on you then. and the same way your brain learned the override, you can recondition it so that it actually helps you stick to plan.

The early stages of a bull market are always the most difficult (this is my fourth). You feel like you want to hold stables, yet you want exposure. You want to lock in profit because its been hard to get profit all year (in the bear), when in reality the real asymmetric gains are in the coming years. You think these big pullbacks will happen when in reality price chops sideways and grinds up because market structure has clearly shifted. You start second guessing, you start clicking too many buttons, when you should be confident in the strong tokens you've picked and just sit on them and stay patient.

Do not try to prove your confidence with a bigger position. True confidence is being able to repeat the same trade next time, however many losses in a row you take. Only when you execute rules with an edge again and again, at the position size you set, are you a true trader.

Trading changed my life. Not because of the money. Because it forced me to get disciplined, patient and honest with myself. The money followed.

Someone opened a $50 million $ETH long with 25x leverage. He is just $65 away from liquidation.

Something I notice: adrenaline, dopamine, and fatigue stack up during a great win streak. It’s incredibly hard to stop trading, and as the fatigue builds, I’m tempted to size up tremendously. Part of me is relieved when the big loss finally hits, because it warrants a break. The issue is that in most instances, like last week, if I had never sized up, I most likely wouldn’t have lost much, if anything. Smaller sizing preserves control. In that particular case, I was FORCED to close my positions so my remaining margin wouldn’t get wiped. At a quarter or a fifth of the size (my usual), I wouldn’t have had to do that, and might even have had the luxury of adding to positions (hard to say). OR I might’ve cut the trades way earlier, because on monster sizing, cutting is a difficult choice to make, and it makes a trader lose nimbleness. Getting out of a trade becomes a massive chore and a costly one, and the hopium kicks in. Psychologically, it is painful to lose large amounts of money fast, but it’s also a relief. It’s a sort of desirable outcome, because once that happens, I know for a fact that I’ve lost control, and it’s the perfect time and justification to step away from the market. That’s what I’m about to do: completely close the trading interfaces and not care one bit about what BTC or ETH do until October 31 (perhaps with some super wide alerts in case of extreme volatility). I am writing this for the handful who will relate and understand, because it’s not obvious, even with introspection. It’s there, it’s a real psychological issue, and it’s avoidable with awareness.

If you mean health as opposed to CZ's picture or claims, then YES! In fact I think true health is perhaps more achievable WITHOUT introducing artificial peptides or hormones. The body already has its own Natural Intelligent Design for health which since the beginning of human time has not required artificial supplementation.

@SalsaTekila considering you already know exactly where the trades went wrong... What happens in the body right before the override, and what would actually interrupt that?

Building your account took you how long? And when you emotionally trade you can get rekt the same day... When you already have an effective strategy - That unconscious emotional reaction which overrides your logical risk management is the most important gap to bridge...

Trading has an uncomfortable asymmetry: Building an account can take years. Destroying one can take days. Compounding needs time. Ruin only needs one oversized mistake. Your first job as a trader isn't getting rich. It's staying in the game long term.
