I would appreciate a clear explanation from @_shakenya : Who bears responsibility when a duly contributing member is unable to access healthcare because the SHA system itself is not functioning?

@_shakenya Kindly explain this to me like I am a two-year-old child, because I genuinely want to understand. My son fell ill and needed to be admitted at The Nairobi Hospital on Saturday, September 26, 2026.

What exactly is the purpose of universal healthcare if a contributor can still be forced to pay out of pocket because of an administrative or technological failure beyond their control?

I am now being told that SHA apparently does not backdate admissions. But what happens to patients who genuinely needed medical attention during a period when the system was down? Are they expected to pay simply because a government system failed?

My question is simple: How is this my fault? If I have faithfully contributed to the scheme and the system fails when I need to access the service, why should the financial consequences of that system failure be transferred to me?

Now, on discharge desk , I am being told that because the SHA system was not working for those two days , I have to pay out of pocket for the two days affected by the system failure.

This is despite my employer dutifully deducting my SHA contributions and remitting them as required. The employer has also confirmed that the deductions and remittances were made.

We initiated the admission/visit process through the SHA portal but it failed to go through for two consecutive days, reportedly because of a system failure.

Kenya is an interesting country. You plan and facilitate violence against your political opponents from the opposing political divide, then conveniently cross over into a neighbouring county, draped in the hyena skin, to preach peace and tolerance to the country.

This is stellar journalism on #NTVInvestigates. It is saddening to see that those who orchestrated the #StolenBallot—denying #BABA victory are still walking scot-free and now lecturing others about democracy and the need for free, fair, verifiable, and transparent elections.

It is a deeply unfortunate turn for a facility that was once held in such high regard.

The once-renowned standards of care at @thenairobihosp appear to have significantly declined. The persistent leadership wrangles that have plagued the institution now seem to be spilling over into service delivery, undermining efficiency and patient experience..

The Mwaka Wangu series on Citizen TV about Raila Odinga’s AUC race has turned shade into tears. #BABA, @RailaOdinga continue resting in peace. Even in death, our hearts remain troubled.

Or are we to believe that collective amnesia struck all 65 at once, conveniently, leaving the court of public opinion with silence as the only eyewitness?

So the bus was carrying 65 passengers, but apparently they all vanished into thin air at Karai. Not a single soul saw anything, heard anything, or remembers anything from the Cyrus Jirongo–Climax Bus collision in the wee hours of that fateful morning. Seated ghosts, perhaps?

My car has been ransacked in broad daylight, right under the noses of cameras and police officers who did absolutely nothing. Utterly disgraceful! Pathetic, stupid idiots!

We are mourning the death of the enigma Raila Amollo Odinga, but how dare a few shameless thugs, hiding behind the guise of mourners, turn this into an excuse to rob innocent motorists along Mombasa Road and Uhuru Highway!

Let’s be honest, how easy or difficult would it be to defeat a combined and lethal political force of @WilliamsRuto and @RailaOdinga in the 2027 elections?

Don’t be angry with @edwinsifuna . Baba @RailaOdinga has reminded us time and again that he speaks on behalf of the party. So who are you to object? Relax, and keep that anger in your lungs and breath out !
