A further Wartburg model received the VW four-stroke engine: the Trans pick-up, which was always rarer than the passenger cars. The rapid demise of Wartburg after Germany's reunification was softened for its home town of Eisenach by the opening of a new assembly plant for Opel.
The engine did not fit easily, with the new Wartburg 1.3 needing a new nose, though its late '60s styling changed little overall. Hopes of an export renaissance for the saloon and tourist (estate) were soon dashed by political turmoil, and Wartburg production would end in 1991.
Far too late in the day, East Germany's Wartburg gained a four-stroke engine - VW's 1272cc unit, built at the Barkas plant in Karl-Marx-Stadt. Introduced in late 1988, it came in the dying days of the GDR, with the fall of the Berlin Wall only a year away. #carbrochure #Wartburg

Dat is al vroeg beginnen veranderen toen 'links' rond 1990 de overhand kreeg (of greep). Het duidelijkst werd dat in Nederland met @groenlinks.

@Berttakesphotos @SamvanRooy1 @MeyremAlmaci @Ecolo @groen In de gewone omgang is het inderdaad een kwestie van beleefdheid. Maar als (professionele) politici dat weigeren, is er veel meer aan de hand. Het is een uiting van extreme (politieke) vijandigheid.
