I know I’m decades late to the party, but Rear Window is a bloody masterpiece. So layered, so much outside-inside mirroring. JS is perfect in it, Grace Kelly is an angel in it, but the real MVP for me is Thelma Ritter. “Nobody invented a polite word for a killin’ yet”.
Something crazy about Hollywood's silent film age is that a guy will be driving a train off a cliff while being attacked by lions and you'll think "Wow, how'd they do that effect!" then you look it up and they literally had lions attack a guy while he drove a train off a cliff
I wish THE SWIM PRINCESS (1928) was widely available because there's a scene where Carole Lombard hangs out of a moving train on one leg with her other straddling a car. Out of her silent filmography that scene has always stuck with me as an example of her effortless physicality.

Hard to honor @tcm's 30th without mentioning Jin Lim, the graphic designer who created ALL your favorite art. After 25 years, today's his last day. Always a "pay no attention to that man behind the curtain" attitude, but he is the Great & Powerful Jin. Forever my friend & mentor.
I saw Gun Crazy ('50) on 35mm tonight and it was glorious. I'd only seen it once before and it'd been several years ago.

@HollywoodComet I had the pleasure of meeting him and talking him doing his solo show and they also got to see him play with Peter Asher in San Francisco and Linda Ronstadt was in the audience and I was lucky enough to go up and say hello to her kiss her hand and tell her I loved her & I left
