I know I’m decades late to the party, but Rear Window is a bloody masterpiece. So layered, so much outside-inside mirroring. JS is perfect in it, Grace Kelly is an angel in it, but the real MVP for me is Thelma Ritter. “Nobody invented a polite word for a killin’ yet”.
@JohnnyGirl1982 I love the bit when Alma Ritter asks “Just where do you suppose he cut her up? 'Course, the bathtub! That's the only place where he could have washed away the blood.” James Stewart’s reaction is priceless
@JohnnyGirl1982 @3wojis Yes! When I was a kid, HBO would play old suspense films like this one and Vertigo all the time. I loved them and watched them many times. It’s been years though. Thanks for the reminder
@JohnnyGirl1982 Watched recently for the first time and appreciated it for the most part but was a little let down by the ending, was expecting some big twist. For it to end up just being what he thought all along was disappointing for me 🤷♂️
@JohnnyGirl1982 It's my favorite Hitchcock. Wanted to do a stage adaptation of it for years, but @HartfordStage beat me to it. Cast #KevinBacon in it, too.
@JohnnyGirl1982 Brilliant movie! Seen it many times. Masterful storytelling and editing. Not only did Grace Kelly solidify herself as the standard for Hollywood royalty in that movie, but she was the OG DoorDash driver bringing 21 directly to Jimmy’s hole in the wall apartment.
