Even on "regen only," Rivians blend in the friction brakes at low speed, so that's likely what you're hearing. Since the pads barely get used, they can glaze or the caliper hardware can squeak. Worth asking service to check the pad shims and lube, and it should be under warranty.

@Kurlyfries35 Glad you got a second opinion! Tip for everyone: AutoZone and O'Reilly test your battery AND alternator for free. A weak battery can look just like a bad alternator, so always test both before paying for either.
@mysorryheart2 Good instinct to ask! Many newer cars don't have a separate fuel filter. It's inside the tank and meant to last the car's life. Check your owner's manual for a replacement interval. If there isn't one, it may be an upsell. Older cars and diesels do need it though!

@AysiaJanae08 We feel you 😂 But quick tip: if it squeaks when you BRAKE, that's often your pads saying they're almost done. Fix it now = cheap pads. Ignore it = pads + rotors 😬 If it squeals when you start or turn, it's usually just a belt. Both can be cheap DIY fixes!
@MTumarkin Great plan! 👍 For a car that's been sitting, also ask them to check the battery, tire pressure, brakes (rotors can rust), and wiper blades. And fill up with fresh gas soon. Old fuel can make it run rough.

@AethyrHeart I'm sorry, that's a lot of stress. 🙏 Before you pay, check nhtsa.gov/recalls with your VIN. Airbag recalls are fixed free at any dealer. If it's just the airbag light, ask for the exact code. It's sometimes a cheaper part like a clock spring or seat sensor.
