The whole week in one line:
AI can be a crutch or a gym. Same machine. Opposite results.
Use it to skip the thinking and your mind gets weaker.
Use it to stretch your thinking and it gets stronger.
A risk no leader is putting on the board yet:
If your whole team outsources its thinking to AI, your organization's judgment quietly atrophies.
You'll have faster output and fewer people who can tell when it's wrong.
Speed you can't sanity-check isn't an asset. It's a blind spot at scale.
In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgent to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity.
Gut check for operators:
Is the "AI" in your company answering questions, drafting things a human approves, or actually doing multi-step work on its own?
Those are three completely different worlds — and most people are buying the third while running the first.
Where are you, honestly?
We keep asking the wrong question about AI and work.
"What can machines do that humans can't?" is a race you lose by design.
Ask the opposite: what do humans do that machines can't — and build everything around that.
Stop imitating the machine. Start complementing it.
The difference between companies getting ROI and companies burning cash isn't the tools. They all have the same tools.
It's whether someone turned "we should use AI" into a sequenced plan with owners, baselines, and trained people.
That translation is the job.
It's the one I do.
75% of executives admit their company's AI strategy is "more for show" than a real guide.
Let that land.
Three out of four AI strategies are decoration.
A real roadmap has an owner, a sequence, a metric, and a reskilling plan.
Everything else is a slide deck with ambition.
Reskilling isn't the soft, HR-department afterthought of your AI strategy.
It IS your AI strategy.
The tool sets the ceiling.
Your people's skill decides how much of that ceiling you ever actually reach.
Underfund the humans and you've capped your own ROI.
Founders and operators — gut check:
How many AI tools has your company bought in the last year?
And how many actually changed the way a real workflow runs, end to end?
If those two numbers are far apart, you're not alone. That gap is the whole game.
The week in one line:
AI didn't reduce the work. It intensified it — and handed the savings to everyone except the person doing it.
That's a design choice, not a law of nature.
You can build AI to give people their lives back.
Most just… don't. Be the exception.
The most valuable 90 minutes in your company aren't the ones where someone's juggling five AI tools.
They're the ones where a person thinks deeply about a hard problem, uninterrupted.
I help teams build more of those — not fewer.
Protecting human focus is a strategy, not a luxury.
If your team got faster with AI, you have a choice with that dividend:
Reinvest it all in more output — and slowly burn them out.
Or reinvest some in recovery, focus, and better work — and keep them.
Most companies auto-spend it on more.
The smart ones spend it on people.
A quiet management failure happening everywhere right now:
Setting AI-era output targets against a fantasy of infinite capacity.
"If AI makes them 40% faster, they can do 40% more."
That math ends in turnover.
Capacity isn't a spreadsheet. It's a human with a limit you can't see.
UC Berkeley researchers followed 200 workers for 8 months.
The promise: AI frees up time for higher-value work.
The reality: AI made new tasks feel easy, so people just… took on more.
The workday didn't shrink. It got denser.
