In 2010 I did an elective with the family doctor for 5 kibbutzim around Sderot near Gaza. These communities knew suffering then, but leaned on each other as family. It’s hard to hear and see the reports of the unthinkable evil of Hamas. Bear witness to what happened.

It is not ok for Muslim or Jewish communities to live in fear. It can never be okay to have to wonder about who the next victims of hate filled violence might be. We must collectively rise up and root out all forms of identity based hatred and dehumanization.
Finally reunited. It is real.

Heartbreaking. Vivian Silver z"l was a dedicated peace activist and leader in Women Wage Peace. We thought she was among the hostages, but her body was identified today. Her sons have carried her message forward and now it is on all of us who believe in a better future.

I can tolerate a fairly wide spectrum of thought on Israel-Palestine. But the people in the US and abroad taking down posters of Jewish hostages - kids, grandparents, young women - are antisemites and fundamentally sociopathic. They should be shunned from civilized society.

The sheer amount of misinformation being circulated by well intentioned folks is staggering. Before mindlessly sharing images or videos, we must consistently ask, Are we amplifying misinformation? Are we amplifying a dehumanizing narrative? What are we trying to achieve?

If we spent the same amount of time & money on systems thinking and complexity theory to design systems as we do on educating people...we'd have far better outcomes delivered more efficiently.
We often observe institutions and companies try to make changes thru more education (e.g. e-modules) Instead a far more effective tactic is designing a system that functions under various circumstances. People forget what they're taught. The system will work as designed.
