If you've ever wondered why there's always a blue glow during the concert openings, there's a setting that turns the monitor into a blue screen and they added the pictures in post production. (You could even see it in Marina's shadow at the Tokaigi 2019 concert.)
If I were to upload cinematic shots of every Splatoon 2 character in the Final Shifty Station for people to use as profile pictures, would anyone use/like to see it?
@Joey_EIAS Yup, they weren't cheating, they were just unlucky.
Looks like it was a mistake from Nintendo to upload the MC.Princess Diaries files that late. Sometimes the new BCAT files with the MC.P D stuff haven't been dowoaded, thus the game loads the placeholder Shifty (Flooders) which makes it look like that player is "cheating".
@xisavariable @CBot2016 It'd look like this: x.com/hasui0126/stat…
@Blitz_posts Yeah, but there's only a chance for it to happen if you haven't already played on MC.P D, otherwise that would mean that your cached BCAT files are updated and don't have the Flooder Shifty in them. Here's an example how it looks: x.com/mittsuni/statu… x.com/hasui0126/stat…
@OatmealDome @0xRed 1) It's the msbp in the Messages folder at offset 0x810. It's been quite reliable since 3.1.0. 2) Yeah, I admit that I didn't think this through and forgot about Nintendo being able to add more than just Splatfest things.
@OatmealDome @0xRed (2/2) Every update is just adding Fest stuff lately. And only 2 Shifties need updates in order to work (4.8 and 4.9), so it's the most likely option.
@OatmealDome @0xRed (1/2) They keep a version history of finished (?) updates in the files (except for unexpected micro patches). So far every minor update added at least one future version to that list. 4.6 added all up to 4.9, however 4.7 didn't add another one.
Files for the Killer Wail has been added to Splatoon 2 in version 4.7.0. So far, we know parameter data for the "SuperLaser" (the original Splatoon 1 codename is "BigLaser") and the model for it was added. (Thanks to @LeanYoshi for spotting the model was updated!)
[SPOILERS FOR OCTO EXPANSION FINAL BOSS] Nintendo has added online support for Marina's Hyperbombs from the Octo Expansion final boss. This means that they will be usable in online multiplayer. (What is a Hyperbomb? -> splatoonwiki.org/wiki/Hyperbomb)
Hey squid, where'd you get that Lab Coat from? Looks awfully familiar...
(I don't know if someone already covered this.) A Salmon Run match was supposed to have 5 (and probably shorter) waves. And the Octo Shower boss in Octo Canyon was the second boss, making the Octo Samurai boss no. 3 and the Octostomp boss no. 4.
@_AgentStar_ Yeah, I posted the Splatoween and Frosty Fest ZLZR SFX a while ago.
This is the sound effect for Springfest when pressing ZL and ZR.
Looks like the devs are adding online functionality for Rolonium, probably for a Shifty Station. Additionally, the Octo Expansion versions of Pearl and Marina got animations for Splatfests (they are most likely their costumes for the final fest).
Splatoon 2's Beta & Unused Gear: a Thread! I plan to make tweets about each version's beta/unused/unseen gear, starting with v1.0 today! (s/o @KapuccinoHeck - Dumps & Beta Bunny Hat Image, @Ink_Larry - Extracting Textures for me! Thank you both <3)
v4.4 added a ton of Testfields (many of which seem to be leftovers), but some of them pointed out something very interesting: the possibility of canned specials coming to multiplayer! I'm sure we'll be seeing something of this gimmick in the near future.
Shifty #20 "DeliNuri" features 4 large switches and 1 XL switch in the center. Every switch controls 2 spreaders, so there are 10 spreaders in total (4x NuriBarA, 2x NuriBarB, 4x NuriBarC).
