Towards the end of the season, the #49ers offense started to trend downward. No longer were they able to dominate for a full game as they before. What was the cause of their decline? My answer 👇🏽 si.com/nfl/49ers/news…
@JSanchezFN Hmm...something mental? If that's the case, there are some really negative implications that can be drawn about this team, and some really serious fundamental questions that need to be asked
@JSanchezFN Generate a turnover on the Niners’ first possession. That is ultimately how the Ravens and Chiefs won.
@JSanchezFN I think we missed some important pieces on defense and we didn’t utilize the assets on offense. Why doesn’t Kyle like Jordan Mason? What did Danny Gray do to get him one catch this year and in Kyle’s doghouse ? Wasn’t there a bigger roles for Jennings and Conley?
@JSanchezFN @grantcohn Faced more playoff teams ?
@JSanchezFN @grantcohn Shanahan is amazing when he’s calling his scripted plays. After that, it’s run of the mill. The second half comeback vs the Lions was largely cause Purdy made plays himself
@JSanchezFN Wished they would’ve mixed in some no huddle to manufacture momentum at the end of the season
@JSanchezFN Your hypothesis is they lost momentum after Baltimore. Enlightening depth on this topic.
@JSanchezFN To my untrained eye, it looked like they were becoming predictable with the empty backfield and pounding the same spots on the run. Kyle is a control freak and puts a lot of stock in his scheme and game plan. But when that's not working, he goes into cannot-compute mode.
@JSanchezFN Such a lazy assessment. I get it, not everyone is an analyst, but definitely expected more than "momentum" being the reason couldn't produce offensively. Change in philosophy, lack of production by certain players, injuries, etc
