NEW: A study from enterprise lab Emergence AI finds critical shortcomings in how frontier AI models handle cybersecurity threats. Tested against a phishing campaign, a misinformation attack, and a memory breach, none of the eight multi-agent AI simulations were impervious. Even when the AI detected a risk, that detection didn't translate into containment. In the Gemini simulation, the system initially flagged a phishing lure, but the agents still activated its code. In the Claude simulation, agents attempted to break out of the test entirely to chase their own agenda.
